what does 7c mean in shoe size

Shoe size labeling is a voluntary system of international standards to categorize or classify children's and adults' shoes. The labeling system was introduced in 1957, primarily in North America, but has gradually been adopted internationally.

Shoe Size Chart: As the shoe size increases by one letter, so does the length of the shoe. A shoe’s width remains fixed and unchanged for that particular letter. Therefore, a 7C is longer than a 6C but it has the same width.

The following shoe size chart is a guide to help you find the correct shoe size. Please note that this chart is only to be used as a reference. The size of your feet is unique to you and varies with your age, weight and height (which can all affect your foot measurements).

Also, when measuring your feet it is best to measure both feet, as sometimes one foot may be slightly larger than the other. Understanding what size you wear in shoe sizes is important for making sure that everyone buys the same shoes. In the United States, sizing starts at zero, with number one being the largest.

The next number up is two and so on, with seven being considered one size smaller than six. If you want to know what size your feet would be in these shoes, it's easy to find out by multiplying seven by four and adding three. This will give you a result of 21 which can be used to identify your shoe size. For example if a shoe has a 5-3 or 6-3 or even 7-3 they are sized as 21cm or approximately 8 inches long.

A number is generally given to each shoe size, and it is typically a combination of letters and numbers that can help narrow down what they actually mean.

In Japan, there are even more variations. Vans Japan uses a different sizing system based on Chinese zodiac signs, with each number corresponding to an animal's sign. The standard US system works pretty much on a universal scale though; in Japan they use a system of their own which makes it difficult to translate into another language. (However, someone has done so here. Some shoes that are sold in America are also produced in Japan, such as Converse, Vans and Nike.)

Shoe sizes can differ depending on the type of shoe it is. A mens 9 width shoe is roughly equivalent to an 8.5 in a dress shoe or a 7.5 in a running shoe (exact conversion will vary based on the brand). Width is also an important aspect of footwear that should be taken into consideration when deciding what to buy. While most shoes will come in a standard width, many specialty lines of athletic shoes are adjustable which allows for personal customization to ensure comfort without sacrificing performance.

Shoe sizes and dimensions are also often written in a slightly different format, as below:

for example, Nike shoes available sizes: M7.5, W11.5 and UW14.

For women's shoes in China and US size comparison table is listed below. Note that there is no such thing as a "US Size 1" - the Largest size given for women at the moment is "10M", but there is no defined meaning for "10M". The closest English equivalent size of Chinese shoes would be either Women's US 12 or Women's UK 4.

This conversion table has been confirmed with Adidas official website (26 Nov 2013).
